Arthur was born at Foxton.
He married Matilda Mitchell (born at Feilding in 1877) in 1902.
They had 4 daughters & three sons.
Arthur served in the Boer War. All three sons served in WW2.
Arthur took over hs fathers business (see father's profile) in Foxton. By 1903 he was a builder in Palmerston Nth before moving to Hunterville around 1908. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home from work, although it may have come about from a heart affliction. (see obituary Manawatu Herald 31 Oct 1922.)
