Charles BLENKHORN
Charles was born in Knaresbro, Yorkshire, England.
He married Margaret Inder (born in Coromandel) in 1908.
They had eight children, four girls & four boys.
Three sons & one son-in-law served in WW2.
One son, Guy, had the distinction of reaching 100 years of age.
Charles started his work as a clerk (probably in a law office) in the early 1900's in Hokowhitu.
He was then in Levin, from 1905, as a solicitor for the rest of his life. He also served as the Mayor of Levin from 1915 - 1919 & again from 1929 - 1932.
Son Jack was a farmer in Ohau then Weraroa Rd.
Son Robert was a farmer in Lindsay Rd.
Son Guy was a farmer in Ohau, then Atkins Rd.
Daughter Margaret & husband Keith Kirkcaldie were farmers in Ohau.
The Blenkhorns (Charles & Margaret) lived at 241 Weraroa Rd.
