Edward MALCOLM

Edward was born at Charing Cross, London, England.

He moved to NZ in 1858 to reunite with his brother in the Nelson Contingent during the NZ Wars. He then moved into the armed Constabulary in the Waikato.

He married Lizzie Sedcole (born at Wellington in 1861) at Foxton in 1879.

They had 5 daughters & 4 sons. Three of the children died very young.

Three sons, Harry, Victor & Robert all served in WW1, Victor also served in WW2.

After farming in the Waikato, Edward joined the Wellington Manawatu Railway Co first as a guard then as a porter. The family moved to Levin around 1894. For the rest of his working life he was a labourer.
