Frank started out as a labourer at Hunterville. He then became a hairdresser at Feilding then Foxton, moving to Levin around 1896. He then moved to Stratford and finished up at Te Aroha.
In Feb 1898 the building he occupied in Oxford St, Levin (as a billiard saloon, barber & tobacconist) was burnt down in a large fire that engulfed several buildings.
