Frederick was probably from Denmark. He was married to Annie. Her maiden name is unknown.

They had one son.

Frederick purchased a 9 acre small farm allotment on the edge of Levin in 1889. This is now the New World site.

At some stage prior to 1906 he was in the Porirua Mental Hospital until he died.

At the behest of the Public Trustee the "Petersen Estate" was put up for auction (43 sections) in Apr 1906.

The mother & daughter Ostler's used to stay with Annie whilst they were building their own whare & house.
