George MILNES

George was born at Ashford, Kent in England.
He married Eliza Chittock (born at London in 186) at Gore in 1882.
They had 3 daughters & 2 sons.
George was a gentleman farmer then a butcher before going back to farming in the Waikoikoi/Gore area.
He retired around 1908.
His two sons had moved to Levin, one to farm & one to be an engineer. (see later profile on John Charles Milnes.
The rest of the family followed. George & Eliza, along with 4 of their children are buried in Levin.
One son, George Frederick served in WW1.
