Henry was born at Cornwall, England. He married Bessie Reynolds (born at London in c 1866) at Picton in 1891.

They had two daughters & one son.

The son, Alick, served in WW1.

Henry signed the 1905 'Yes' Levin township petition and was on the unofficial census, shown as a labourer with four people & two buildings.

Henry was a bushman at Tairua, then Waiomo in the early 1880's. He was then in Picton as a labourer & Tua Marina (near Picton) as a flaxdresser. He was then in Paraparaumu & then Weraroa around 1903 - all as a labourer.

He was the only family member to be buried in Levin.
