Keith was born in Wellington.
He married Marion McDonald (born at Lower Hutt in 1899) in 1920.
They had one daughter & one son.
Marion later married William Strang (born at Invercargill in 1906).
Keith enlisted for WW1 in Nov 1916, and served as a Lance/Sgt in the NZ Rifle Brigade.
He started working life as a shepherd in Te Pohue after WW1, then a farmer in Waimihi. He was a hotelkeeper in Nelson around 1928 then to New Plymouth around 1938, then back to farming at Tauranga.
He was the publican at the Grand Hotel in Levin in 1936.
