Jim was born at Dunedin.
He married Eileen Mullen (born at Dublin in 1906) at Dublin in 1935.
They had 5 sons & 2 daughters. The first three were born in Dublin the eldest died in infancy.
Jim was a brewer in Gore then became the licensee of the Grand Hotel in Levin in 1960. His son James Jnr took over after he retired.
Both he & Eileen are buried in Levin.
