It is not known where Thomas or Jane were born, however it was probably in the Otago region.
The marriage to Jane is not recorded nor do they appear to have children.
Thomas is shown as a shepherd in the Roxburgh area as well as at Tinui in the Wairarapa.
He died at Wellington Hospital, aged only 31 and is buried at karori.
The first time Jane appears in the Electoral Rolls is in 1905 as a boarding house keeper in Levin. She is also on the unofficial census that same year (as part of the Levin township petition).
She then appears in Otaki as a widow in 1908, 1911 & 1914 & then disappears until she dies, aged 43 and is buried in the south.
