They had two daughters & two sons. Both sons, Frederick & Harold, fought in WW2.

William started out as a flaxmiller in Otaki. By 1900 he is a butcher in Levin. His widow lived at Stuckey St until moving around 1935 to Wellington.

William and his family were recorded on the unofficial census for the 1905 Levin township petition. He was described as a butcher with 6 people in total & 2 buildings.
