William Miller ARCHIBALD

William was born in Newton, Scotland.

He married Jessie Robinson (born Perthshire, Scotland), marriage date & place unknown,

They had eight children, all born in Midlothian, Scotland.

By the early 1900's they are in NZ, where Jessie dies in 1904. Their youngest child was 6.

William remarried in 1906 at Palmerston Nth, a divorcee, Mary Ann Garard (nee Paul). There were five Garard children.

William and Mary had a further two children.

William was an insurance agent working out of his home in Cambridge St, Levin from 1911 to 1919. He then moved to Marton as a taxi proprietor & then a hall proprietor.

One son, Menzies served in WW1, also two stepsons George & Frederick (who lost an arm) Garard. A step son-in-law, Robert Symonds, was killed at Ypres, Belgium in 1917.
